Description: This paper presents a data association problem for multi-target tracking based on Markov chain Monte Carlo data association (mcmcda). When the number of targets is fixed, the single scan version of MCDA is similar to joint probabilistic data association (JPDA). Although it is NP difficult to calculate the correlation probability accurately in JPDA, we prove that the single scan mcmcda algorithm provides a complete polynomial randomization approximation scheme for JPDA. Aiming at the general multi-target tracking problem, a multi scan MCDA algorithm is proposed, which is similar to the optimal Bayesian filter. We also provide extensive simulation studies to support the theoretical results in this paper. Our simulation results also show that mcmcda is superior to multiple hypothesis tracking (MHT) in accuracy and efficiency. Under extreme conditions, such as a large number of targets in dense environment, low detection probability and high false alarm rate.
